UnitSift turns incomplete listing photos into a reviewable inventory, conservative resale-value range, explicit cost model, and maximum-bid estimate. It is designed to expose assumptions—not hide uncertainty behind one confident-looking number.
Why UnitSift exists
Storage auction listings force bidders to make expensive decisions from a small set of photos, limited inspection, and incomplete information. Retail-price guesses reward optimism. UnitSift is built around the opposite behavior: count visible evidence, discount uncertainty, model the full cost stack, and make the walk-away price explicit.
What the product does
- Reads multiple listing photos as one evidence set and attempts to group repeated views of the same object.
- Identifies visible item categories, possible brands or models, condition clues, and approximate image locations.
- Uses conservative liquidation ranges and labels active marketplace listings as asking-price signals rather than confirmed sales.
- Subtracts buyer premium, resale fees, hauling, disposal, cleanup labor, uncertainty, and required profit from the bid ceiling.
What it does not do
UnitSift cannot see inside sealed boxes, test equipment, authenticate products, smell odors, detect every form of damage, or guarantee local demand. It is not a certified appraisal, financial advice, or a promise of profit. A bidder remains responsible for reviewing the photos, auction terms, facility rules, and their own costs.
How accountability works
Public methodology, worked examples, source labels, limitations, and update dates are part of the product. Material editorial corrections should change the affected page and its update date. Product claims are expected to remain narrower than the evidence supporting them.
